Physical Description
 This species of zebra has a typical black and white striped pattern that is unique to each individual.
 Their mane stands upright & they have a striped tail with a black tassel on the end.

Range : Angola and Eastern South Africa
Habitat : Open grassy plains and woodlands
Diet : bark, roots, stems, variety of grasses, leaves, and twigs
Status :Although not endangered, population declined about 20% from 1990 to 2000
Reason for the status : habitat loss and overhunting
Gestation Period – 12 months
Lifespan – 20 to 30 years in the wild / up to 40 years in captivity
