Physical Description:

• The reeves muntjac has chestnut colored coat.

• Tail color which is black and white

• The males have shorter antlers

Physical Characteristics:

Head to body length : 90 cm ( 3 ft )

Tail Length : 10 cm ( 4 in )

Shoulder Height : 40 cm ( 16 in )

Weight  : 11 – 16 kg ( 24 – 35 lbs )

Antler length : 7- 8 cm ( 2.75 -3.2 in )

Tusk Length : 2.5 cm ( 1 inch )

RANGE : China and Taiwan

HABITAT :  Deciduous and subtropical rainforest

DIET : Grasses, sprouts, fruits, seeds, carrion, and eggs.

Status : Least Concern.  The population is decreasing in the world. In China there are no population available.

Reason for status : Habitat destruction and Hunting

Gestation : 7 months

Lifespan : 10 to 12  years in the wild / 18 years in captivity
