The dark brown coat is short and dense.

There is a hump in the shoulder which is more pronounced in males.

Both males and females have horns.

Range – Nepal , India to Indochina and Malay Peninsula 
Habitat – Forested hills and grassy clearings
Food – green grasses and leaves
Status: Endangered.1000 left remaining in the wild
Reason For Status : Hunting and habitat destruction
Gestation : 9 months
Lifespan : 30 years in captivity/ 13 years in wild
