CROCODILIAN SPECIES  CROCODILE  SIMILARITIES  DIFFERENCES ALLIGATOR CAIMAN Crocodilian is a family of Crocodile, Alligator, Caiman, and Gharial.

Crocodiles have a semi erect posture.

Alligator and Caimans have a v shaped snout The difference between crocodile, alligator, caiman and gharial is their snout. Alligator  have v shaped snout. Alligator  have v shaped snout.

 

Even though a False Gharials snout looks like a Gharial it really belongs to the crocodile family.

 

They can walk slowly and move their legs .

Alligators have u shaped wider snout Caiman is a four legged animal in the reptile family. The smallest crocodilians is the Cuvier”s Dwarf Caiman. Crocodile prefer saltwater.     The shape of alligator’s snout makes them able to crush on animals such as turtles more easily than crocodiles. Caimans closely look like alligators with long thick tails and snout. The largest species is Saltwater Crocodilian Family Crocodiles have long and narrow snout.       Caimans are smaller than alligator.           They are Spectacled caimans, broad snouted caiman, jacare caiman, Black Caiman, Cuvier dwarf caiman, and Schneider Dwarf Caiman.               The Black man is the rgest of all Caiman species even though it isaller than a ccodile.                                                  

It is closely related to caimans and alligators, but it’s closest relative is saltwater crocodile.

It is the longest group of reptiles. There are two species of Gharials.

The false  Gharial which is known as tomistamo that belongs to crocodile family.

The Indian Gharial belongs to a separate family called gavalidae.
