Physical description

  • The upper part of the animal ranges from reddish orange to ochre, and the under parts are whitish.

  •  The body has a series of black striations of black to dark grey colour.

  • The characteristic stripe patterns differ from one individual to another and from one side of the cat’s body to the other.

  • In fact, there are no tigers with identical markings.

Length: 2m – 2.4m (6.5ft – 7.8ft)

Tail length: 60 – 110 cm ( 24 – 43 inches )

Shoulder height:  58 – 100 cm ( 23 – 41 in )

Weight: 80kg – 150kg (176 – 330lbs)

Range: Forest of Southeast Asia

Habitat: Tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests

Diet : Carnivores meat diet

Status: 500 tigers remain

Reason for the status: Logging operation , development of roads, poaching and habitat

Destruction.

Longevity: 1
