CASSOWARY

 

 

Cassowary

  •  Cassowaries  is a large flightless bird that is native to New Guinea and Australia.

  • They are the third tallest bird and second heaviest living bird. 

  • There are three species of cassowaries.  

  • The southern cassowary which is known as ( double wattled cassowary ) the Dwarf Cassowary which is known as Bennett’s Cassowary and the Northern Cassowary ( single wattled cassowary ) .

  •  Females are bigger and brightly colored.

  • They have feathers that consist of shaft and loose barbules.

  • They have sharp claws on their feet.
