Carnivora

 

Carnivora are mammals that evolved as predators living on a diet of freshly killed animal prey and having bodies really adapted for hunting. Many Carnivora are carnivores. All carnivores have carnassial teeth.

There are 13 families in this order. They are divided into two suborders Caniformia and Feliformia. There are 5 Families that are Canidae ( Coyote, Dhole, Dingo, Dog, Fennec Fox, jackal, Maned Wolf, Wild Dog and wolf ) Ursidae, ( All species of bears and Giant Panda) Mustelidae, ( Badger,ferret,fisher, Mephitidae, Procyonidae and they belong to the group Caniformia.

 Then in the group Feliformia there are 5 families. They are Felidae, Viverridae, Eupleridae, Herpestidae, and  Hyaenidae. Then in Carnivora comes the Pinnipeds. In Pinnipeds there are three families Otariidae (Sea Lions and Fur Seals), Phocidae (True earless seals), and Odobenidae (Walrus). Pinnipeds are the only Carnivores which do not have carnassial teeth. These are the animal picture examples given below.
