PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

All Male and Female Bushbucks are geometrically shaped white patches or spots on most of their body ( ears, chin , tail, legs, and neck. )

They also have band of white on the base of the neck.

They are chestnut color as they get older, and have dark brown and white markings on their body.
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
HEAD TO BODY LENGTH: 100 to 150 cm ( 3.3 to 5.0 ft )
TAIL LENGTH: 30 – 35 cm ( 12 – 14 in )
HORN LENGTH: Males only – 25 to 55 cm ( 10- 22 in ) Females have no horns
SHOULDER HEIGHT: 65 to 100 cm ( 2.1 to 3.3 ft )
WEIGHT: 25 -80 kg ( 55 – 175 lb )
RANGE : Africa south of Sahara to North of Kalahari desert
HABITAT: Forest , Bush Savanna ‘s and dense woodlands
FOOD: Grasses , leaves, buds, and fruit
STATUS : This species is threatened and stable, but in other regions the population is decreasing.
REASON FOR STATUS : Habitat destruction
GESTATION PERIOD: About 6 months
LIFESPAN: YRS IN THE WILD – 12 YRS / Years – 14 Years
