PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

This species are reddish chestnut in color with a dark stripe on the back from the nose to the tail.

The lower legs are darker than the body.

The face is short with a rounded or humped bare nose.

They have large scent glands beneath the eyes that include a series of pores rather than of a single opening.

Their brain relative to size is larger than all of the antelopes.

They are the smallest of duiker species.

RANGE : Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
HABITAT: Dense vegetation or rainforest
FOOD: fruits, seeds, grasses, insects , and eggs
STATUS: This species is facing extinction
REASON FOR STATUS : Meat, skin and Horns and overhunting
GESTATION PERIOD: 7.5 months
LIFESPAN: YRS IN WILD -12 years / 16 years in captivity
