Capuchins

 

 

  • ·         Capuchins are new world monkeys.

  • ·         The range of capuchin monkeys includes Central America and South America as far south as northern Argentina.

  • ·         They have a hairy, prehensile tail, and a darkly colored body, arms, and legs, with a white face, throat, and chest, and a dark cap on the head.

  • ·         Their  name comes from their coloration and their cap of crown hair.

  • ·         Capuchins are considered among the most intelligent New World monkeys

There are four species of capuchins are given below :

  1. The White fronted capuchin

  2. Brown or tufted capuchin

  3. Black Capuchin

  4. Golden Bellied Capuchin
