BIRDS ( AVES )

 

  • Birds are warm blooded and are winged , feathered,  and bipedal animals (two feet)

  • Their diet range from seed fruits to small mammals and other birds

  • They are endothermic.

  • Birds are characterized by feathers, beak, bill and with no teeth

  • They have a high metabolic rate

  • Birds have very good eyesight

  • They have a four – chambered heart

  • Birds build nest to house their young

  • All birds hatch from eggs

  • Birds use their beaks for cleaning and keeping the feathers in good shape

  • Birds skeleton help them in the powered flight.

  • Birds fly one territory to another place for weather purposes

  • Some birds are song birds (cuckoo, nightingale, some parrots etc)

  • Birds use their bill for catching their food.

  • Birds migrate seasonally

  • There are two types of Birds:  Flying and Flightless birds (Ostrich, Emu Cassowary, and King Penguin etc)
