Physical Description
They have a dark bronze color above, with black spots on the back and a dirty purple on the belly and side of their body is, yellowish-green in color
General Characteristics
Length :Â Males 5.5 meters ( 18 ft ) /Â Females : 2.4 -4.0 meters ( 7 ft 10 in – 13ft 1 in )
Weight : Nile crocodiles usually weigh 225 to 500 kg (500 to 1,100 lb), but large males can  reach up to 750 kg (1,700 lb) in
Range :Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Egypt, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbawe, Gabon, South Africa, Malawi, Sudan, South Sudan, Botswana, and Cameroon. Isolated populations also exist in Madagascar and in Senegal.
Habitat : Rivers lakes, marshes and Dams
Diet : Fish, Small Vertebrates, Mammals such as gazelles, antelope, waterbuck, sitatunga , lechwe, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, young hippos, giraffes, Cape buffalos, and young elephants that they prey on.
Status : Threatened in some parts of its range
Reason for the status : Hunting for its skin and meat
Incubation Period – 80 days
Lifespan – 45 years in wild / 80 years in captivity
