Physical Description

This species has light brown body and tail, with darker bands on the body and tail. This has a more sleder snout han a salt water cocodile

General Characteristics

Length : 2.3 – 3 M (7.5 – 9.8 ft), females: 2.1 M (6.9M)

Weight : 53kg (120lbs),   20 kg (44 lbs) females

Range : Western Australia, Queensland, and Northern Territory

Habitat : Wetlands, billabongs, rivers, and creeks

Diet : Mice, rats, and fish

Status : In recent years the population  have dramatically dropped

Reason for the status : Increased presence of poisonous toad, hunting and habitat destruction

Incubation Period – 65 – 95 days

Lifespan – 20 years in captivity
