Description – Indochinese tigers are a bit smaller and darker than Bengal tigers, with shorter, narrower stripes.

Range – The Indochinese Tigers live in Thailand, Myanmar, southern China, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and peninsular Malaysia.

Habitat – Tigers live in remote forests in hilly to mountainous terrain, much of which lies along the borders between countries.

Diet – The Indochinese tiger eats wild pig, wild deer and wild cattle.

Status – There are only 1,000-2,000 of this species that are remaining in the wild, and about 60 live in zoos in Asia and the U.S.A.

Reason for the status -Tiger population has been reducing since the early part of 20th century, and the situation is getting worse even now. This is because of habitat destruction , poaching, and using tiger fur for trading.
